High School Drama Title Sequence Analysis.

The high school drama I have chosen to analyse is called '17 Again'. This movie starts off with calm music introducing the cinematic company and then moves onto acknowledging the production team. After this the music is changed into a different tone (somewhat happier) and then using the camerawork; slow panning among different scenes, such as the high school which shows were the movie is set, which then moves onto (using no editing/transitions.) onto the other relevant scenes such as the showing the stadium with the name of the basketball team on it.

which moves in perfectly to a close up shot of a basketball net, ( an audio of a bouncing ball in the background) but then the movie introduces another production team and goes back to the closeup of the basketball net with multiple basketballs going through it (the audio of the bouncing basketball is increased.)

following this is a birds eye view of Zac Efron (main character.)throwing the balls into the net, different camera shots are used to show him (lower shots, mid shots etc.) and the transition timing is a lot quicker, and does not focus on one shot specifically for long. It then introduces onto a blank screne the title of the movie. and goes onto a mid frozen shot of the main character in action. with an overlay caption over this shot to introduce him which says 'Micky Donnel, 1989' (showing name of character but not actor.)

it then moves on from the this shot onto moving action and into the beginning of the movie of Mike speaking to his couch. however the audience are able to tell this is a flashback/a backstory as there is an effect (created due to editing) around the clip, a vignette is used to give off a 'dreamy' or 'flashback' effect.
(vignette effect is shown prominently in this clip)
