Practical Activity - The Breakfast club
This video is a reconstruction of the hit teen Highschool Drama The Breakfast Club. As it is unfinished, we haven't included opening credits, however, still try our best to incorporate every aspect of the movie's title sequence (i.e. shots, mise en scene and camerawork). We thought it had quite a successful turn out:
Planning:
In order to recreate The Breakfast Club title sequence, we added our own unique twist to it by taking camera shots associated with our college, such as the college hallway, canteen, stairs etc. Before filming, we planned out our camera shots by illustrating them on a storyboard so that we could refer to it when we were filming and to be more organised. This was done very successfully as we gained a better understanding of what to expect while we were creating our title sequence.
When editing our title sequence we used Final Cut Pro which helped us a lot as it enabled us to reduce screen time, reduce the amount of time a shot was going to last and helped join all the shots together. In addition, we got the initial breakfast club soundtrack to played on to ours which improved the quality of our title sequence.
